General Help
The data is shown in a "browse screen", where the grid shows each record on a new line, as shown in the screen shot below:
- "A" shows the menu line, and it also points out that the user has not logged in, so has no editing rights, and no detail viewing rights either;
- "B" shows the column headings;
- "C" points to the control you can use to help filter the data (hidden if you aren't logged in);
- "D" is the "+" (expand) button that allows you to see further navigation options ("detail") for the selected row, which is highlighted in a darker colour "J";
- "E" is the list of navigation options available for this record;
- "F" allows you to create more advanced filters to narrow down the data (more examples below); and
- "G" is the "Detail" button that allows you to see further navigation options for the selected row. It does the same function as the expand button "D".
As you can see there are no options to edit or view the data. The user must
log in first.
Now the user has logged in with limited rights:
- "H" is the menu line with the name of the current user displayed;
- "I" shows the filter line. Type in a phrase or value to filter on, and use the filter control "C" for more options;
- "J" shows a selected row. Double-click on the row to zoom in on the data; or
- "K" is the View button which zooms in on the data.
Only the "
View" button is shown. This means you can zoom in to see the data, but not change it.
Now the user has logged in with full editing rights:
- "L" is the "Add" button, which allows the user to add a new record;
- "M" is the "Edit" button, which allows the user to modify the data in the selected record; and
- "N" is the "Delete" button, which allows the user to delete the selected record.
Now the user has clicked on the "Edit" button:
- "O" is the "Cancel" button, which closes the edit screen without any changes; and
- "P" is the "Update" button, which closes the edit screen and saves any changes made.
If the "Update" button is missing, then you won't be able to save any changes, only look at the data in more detail.
The edit screen below is used when there is too much data to fit comfortably on a single edit screen:
- "Q" is the first tabbed page of information, and the data can be changed; and
- "R" is the tab to click on to go to the second tabbed page, which shows more information.
Click on the "Update" button to save any changes.

This page is still under development. Apologies for the inconvenience, but further information will follow later.
